Keywords and different types of keywords.


Keywords:

In SEO (Search Engine Optimization), a keyword is a word or phrase that people type into search engines (like Google) when looking for information, products, or services.

Keywords are the meaningful words or phrases people type into Google or other search engines to find what they want to know about. So, if the website has the right keywords, it will show up higher in search results.

Keywords help search engines understand what your webpage is about, so they can show it to the right audience. If your content matches the intent behind a keyword, it’s more likely to appear higher in search results.


There are different types of keywords. Such as


1. Generic/SEED Keywords:

Generic keywords, also called seed keywords, are the basic, broad terms that describe your product, service, or topic at a high level.

Seed keywords are short; basically, it is within 1-2 words that show the main idea of a topic. It is like starting with a specific word.

They are called “seeds” because they are the starting point for keyword research -from these, you can grow a list of more specific (long-tail) keywords.

2. Primary Keywords:

A Primary Keyword is the main keyword or key phrase that best represents the core topic of a webpage or piece of content.

The main keyword is a more specific 2-3 words or phrases that show what a page is about and what users want to find.

It is the main search term you want that specific page to rank for on Google.
All other keywords (secondary, related, or long-tail) support and reinforce this main one.

For Example:

3. Short-Tail Keywords:

Short-tail keywords (also called head keywords) are broad search terms made up of one to two words.
They cover general topics rather than specific queries.

Short-tail keywords are simple search phrases, 1-3 words that define general topics, not specific ones. It is connected to primary keywords.

Bike Services, Agha Noor Dress, and Cozy Restaurants etc.

5. LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) Keywords:

LSI keywords mean supportive keywords. It is related to the main word and helps to understand what the content is about.

Phrase match keywords are keywords that target searches containing the exact keyword phrase, in the same order, but may include additional words before or after. They are commonly used in ‘Google Ads’ but are also relevant in SEO for targeting specific search intent.
